Hi Guys,
Friday 14th November is the BBC's Children in Need night and Sophie along with the other newsreaders will be doing a scene from the hit film Mama Mia.
The BBC presenters will be donning flared catsuits to recreate a scene from Mamma Mia!, the hit musical and movie starring Meryl Streep, Julie Walters and Pierce Brosnan.
Miss Bruce said: "I went to see the film with my seven-year-old daughter Mia and we absolutely loved it,
"For our television tribute, I'm probably playing the Meryl Streep role. We will also have three senior newsmen taking part and some dancers from the West End show.
"We didn't set out to look like the two Abba women but I am flattered that anyone would think I resembled Frida. I was a great Abba fan and she was my favourite."
The pair will be performing a song and dance routine for the long-running charity event.
Sophie, 40, who has three children and only recently returned to the screen after maternity leave, says: ‘It’s actually quite revealing because it clings to every curve. It’s so tight, I can barely raise my arm, and sitting down is virtually impossible. It can be very unforgiving when you’ve not long had a baby.
‘We’ll be singing two songs from the show – Mamma Mia! and Dancing Queen. But there has been little time for us to rehearse together. I took a DVD of the dance steps home and it’s been hilarious having my children judging my efforts. I am certainly no dancing queen. Thankfully we have very simple steps to do but there’s still a danger one of us could stumble in these skyscraper platforms.’
This is the best part of the night, it is funny to see them dress up and sing, they are good sports.
Sophie and the rest of the newsreaders will be on after 10:30pm so tune in.
